Standfast Security Engineering and Installations Ltd are ACPO (The Association of Chief Police Officers) licensed installers. ACPO for England Wales and Northern Ireland (ACPO) and the Association of Chief Police Officers for Scotland (ACPOS) represent the police forces of the United Kingdom and both organisations endorse and support the Secured by Design programme.

Secured by Design is the UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of "designing out crime" by use of effective crime prevention and security standards for a range of applications. The Secured by Design logo and the title "Police Preferred Specification" may only be used in respect of products which meet these standards.

ACPO Crime Prevention Initiatives Limited is a not-for profit company and was established in 1999 to manage Secured by Design and similar crime prevention initiatives at a national level. It is entirely owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) with chief police officers on the Board of Directors.
